This is a mile post located 2 miles from Barnsley, specifically 50 yards southeast of No 27 on Penistone Road. It dates from the mid to late 19th century and features a cast iron triangular front, although it lacks a post. The inscription on the mile post reads: "GREENFIELD & SHEPLEY LANE HEAD ROAD FULSTONE HOLMFIRTH DENBY 2 MILES DALE 4½ MILES CAWTHORNE 8 MILES BARNSLEY 12 MILES."
