Description

5 Miles Post is a mile post from the mid to late 19th century. It features a cast iron front with a rounded top, mounted on a stone post. The inscription reads: "GREENFIELD & SHEPLEY LANE HEAD ROAD ASTONLEY GREEN HOLMFIRTH FIELD 5 MILES 5½ MILES BARNSLEY OLDHAM 19 MILES 9¾ MILES."
