Description
Milepost from the mid to late 19th century. It features a cast iron triangular front with a rounded top, mounted on a stone post. The inscription reads: "GREENFIELD & SHEPLEY LANE HEAD ROAD UPPERTHONG HOLMFIRTH GREEN 1 MILE FIELD 9 ½ MILES BARNSLEY OLDHAM 15 MILES 13 ¾ MILES."
