Description
This is a barn located along the south side of the farmyard at Kexbrough Hall Farm, dating from the 16th or 17th century. It features a timber frame with later cladding that has been significantly altered. The structure is built of coursed rubble and has a sheet metal roof. Inside, there are seven internal bays, with square-headed cart entrances at bays three and five, the latter of which is partially blocked. The barn has later additions on both the left and right sides that are not considered of special interest, as well as an addition at the rear.
The interior includes at least six, possibly seven, post and truss frames, with fling-post trusses supported by struts. The jowelled posts are straight-braced to tie-beams, although some of these beams are missing. The left frame is positioned against the gable wall and features chevron pattern studding.
