Description
This is a barn located about 30 meters west of Hall Farm House, dating from the late 16th century and extended in the 19th century. It features a timber frame on a red brick base, with a rendered and weatherboarded exterior, and is clad in corrugated sheet material. The roof is also made of corrugated sheet. The barn consists of seven bays, with central doors and a midstrey at the rear that has been removed. Two storeyed bays from the 19th century have been added to the left side. There is a one-storey range extending forward from the right bay, which is weatherboarded and has stable doors, topped with a slate roof. There are 20th-century additions to the rear that are not considered of special interest.
Inside, the barn features jowled posts with arched braces supporting cambered tie beams, although many braces are missing or have been replaced with knee braces. There are also arched braces to cambered collars and arched windbraces to the butt purlins.
