Description

This milepost, located approximately 500 metres north of the junction with Barugh Green Lane, dates from the mid to late 19th century. It is made of stone and features a cast-iron triangular front with a rounded top. The raised letters on the milepost indicate the distances to various locations: Barnsley and Grangemoor Road, with Barnsley being 10¼ miles away, Bretton 2 miles, and 4½ miles to Barnsley.
