Description
This is a milepost located approximately 150 metres west of Rowland Road in Wilthorpe, dating from the mid to late 19th century. It is made of stone and features a cast-iron triangular front with a rounded top. The raised letters on the milepost indicate the following distances: Barnsley & Grangemoor Road Baraugh, Huddersfield 15¼ miles, Holmfirth 13 miles, Denby Dale 7¼ miles, Bretton 5¼ miles, and Camthorne 3 miles.
