Description

Milestone located in front of number 263 on Barnsley Road, Flockton Green. This milestone dates from the mid to late 19th century and features a triangular cast iron front mounted on a later concrete post. The inscriptions on the milestone indicate distances to Barnsley and Grange Moor Road, Flockton, Huddersfield, and Bretton, with measurements of 7¼ miles, 9 miles, and 2½ miles respectively.
