Description

This milestone, located at the southeast corner of the crossroads at the junction of Otley Road and Farrar Lane, dates from the mid-19th century. It is made of gritstone and stands approximately 1 meter high with a cambered top. The inscription on the milestone is in capital letters and indicates distances to 11 destinations in miles and furlongs, although not all of the text is legible. The listed destinations include Adel Bridge, Allwoodley Gates, Eccup Bridge, Harewood Bridge, Tinshill, a bridge station, Horsforth Church, Rawden Church, and Yeadon Church.
