Description
Milestone located 6.25 miles from Wakefield, situated 0.25 mile west of the junction with Grange Lane. This milestone dates from the mid to late 19th century and features a triangular cast iron front mounted on a stone post with a rounded top. The embossed lettering indicates the distances to various locations: "WAKEFIELD & AUSTERLANDS ROAD UPPER WHITLEY HUDDERSFIELD HORBURY 6¼ MILES 4 MILES WAKEFIELD 7 MILES."
