Description

Milestone located 5.25 miles east of the junction with Barnsley Road in Grange Moor. This milestone dates from the mid to late 19th century and is made of stone with a rounded top. It features a triangular cast iron front with raised letters that read: "WAKEFIELD & AUSTERLANDS ROAD UPPER WHITLEY HUDDERSFIELD HORBURY 5¼ MILES 5 MILES (WAKEFIELD 10 MILES)."
