Description
71 and 73 Holgate Road are two houses built around 1830. They are constructed of brick and topped with a slate roof. The houses are a mirrored pair, each with three storeys, attics, and cellars, featuring two bays. On the ground floor, each house has a bowed tripartite glazing bar sash window, along with a cellar window opening in the brick base. The upper storey windows are also glazing bar sashes, set beneath rubbed brick flat arches. Number 73 includes a flat-roofed attic dormer with a horizontal sliding sash window that has glazing bars. Both houses share a doorcase with fanlights and three Tuscan pilasters, and their doors have six raised and fielded panels. There are chimneys on both the left and right sides. The interior has not been inspected.
