Description
Two houses, numbers 63 and 65, were built around 1830. They are constructed of brick with hipped slate roofs. The houses are designed as a mirrored pair, with doorways positioned at their outer sides. Each house has a three-story elevation. Ground floor windows are sashed and canted; No. 63 has a plain cornice above its bay, while No. 65’s bay features a cornice decorated with modillions and divided sashes with large square panes. The first floor has tripartite bowed glazing bar sashes, and the second floor has two glazing bar sashes, each with a painted rusticated lintel. The doorcases feature engaged reeded columns. No. 63 has a plain entablature, and No. 65 has a bracketed cornice above its doorway, both with fanlights and doors consisting of six raised and fielded panels. A chimney is located between the houses. A timber gutter cornice, embellished with a lead hopper and downpipe, is shared between the two properties. The interior has not been inspected. The front garden is enclosed by a low rendered brick wall topped with stone copings, supporting cast-iron railings with bulb-shaped finials. Each house has a gate with slim iron gateposts, each topped with a ball finial; the left-hand finial to No. 63 is currently missing.
