Description
36 and 38 Marygate are two houses built in the early 19th century. They are constructed of brick and topped with a pantiled roof. The buildings rise three storeys, each featuring one bay and a central blind bay. The windows are glazing bar sashes set beneath brick arches. The central blind recesses are rendered. Both houses have doors that share a plain entablature and cornice above them. The left-hand doorway to No. 38 is flanked by plain pilasters, while the right-hand doorway has reeded pilasters. Each door has six panels; the left door features sunken panels, and the right door has bolection mouldings. The passageway has plain flush doors. The gutter on No. 36 is supported by timber brackets, and there are chimneys on the left and a shared chimney on the right. The interior has not been inspected.
