Description
28 Marygate is a house that has been converted into an office and workshop. It dates from the late 17th century and has undergone later alterations. The building is constructed of roughcast brick and features a pantiled roof, forming an L-plan layout.
The exterior has two storeys plus an attic, with the road-facing side displaying two gables. Beneath the left gable, there is a wide 20th-century window with glazing bars on the ground floor, while the first floor and attic have sashes without glazing bars. The right gable features a sash without glazing bars on the first floor. To the right, there is a former carriage entrance with a segmental archway, which is encased in 20th-century timber and has recessed partly-glazed doors. To the left of this entrance, there is a pilaster doorcase that includes a frieze with 20th-century carved panels and a dentilled cornice, with a partly glazed door. A ridge chimney is located towards the left side of the building. The interior has not been inspected.
