Description

This house dates from around 1850. It is constructed of brick with stucco detailing and has a Welsh slate roof. The main structure is a three-window range, rising to two and a half stories, with a central front entrance and a rear wing. A central semi-circular porch features Tuscan columns, framing a door with an overlight. A blocked window is located to the left of the porch, featuring a flat arched head with a moulded keyblock. A tripartite window with margin lights sits to the right. The first floor has 16-pane sash windows, each with an entablature supported by moulded brackets, and a pediment over the central window. The second floor features 8-pane sash windows set between a continuous sill band and moulded architraves, with deeply projecting eaves and part-pedimented gable ends. Brick end wall stacks have stone caps and mouldings. The rear wing includes paired casement windows, with a later lean-to addition to the ground floor.
