Description
Scarr Wheel House is a house built around 1840, featuring stucco over brick and a Welsh slate roof. It stands two stories tall with a three-window range, an advanced gable on the left, and a central entrance. The entrance porch has a fretted parapet above a four-centred arched doorway. To the right of the entrance, there is a renewed window in its original opening, topped with a hoodmould. Above the door, there is an oriel window with a wooden pedimented head, alongside a renewed window, both of which have gablets above. The gable on the left has slightly advanced fenestration, featuring a tripartite sash window on the ground floor divided by unmoulded pilasters, and paired pointed sash windows above. A sexfoil is located in the apex of the gable. The eaves overhang sharply and are supported by arched ribs that spring from small figure-head corbels. The side elevation has blind windows, including a possible stair window with a round-arched head. There is a parallel rear range, and stacks are present on each gable end, with the rear stack projecting and featuring decorative panelling. The interior has not been inspected.
