Description
457 and 459 Lower Broughton Road are a pair of houses built around 1840. They are constructed of stucco over brick and topped with a hipped Welsh slate roof. The buildings are two storeys high and feature a six-window range that is arranged irregularly. Each house has a central eight-panelled door with an architrave that includes engaged columns and an overlight, all set within a flat archway. To the left of each door, there is a single window on each floor, while to the right, there are two windows. All windows are two-pane sashes that have been renewed in their original openings and feature stressed architraves. A continuous sill-band runs along the first floor, and there is a moulded wood eaves cornice. The houses have axial and end wall stacks. The interior has not been inspected.
