Description

Nos. 7 and 8 Sunnyside are a pair of symmetrical houses built in the 1840s. They are constructed of stucco and topped with a slate roof. Each house has two storeys and a basement, with three bays. The central bays are recessed and feature a second floor. There are sill courses at the first and second floors, and the top cornices include friezes on the outer bays. The corners of the buildings have rusticated quoin strips.

The windows are sashed and have architraves, with most featuring glazing bars. The ground floor windows have segmental-head architraves with keys, while the central bays contain tripartite sashes. The first floor windows also have keys and are alternately round-headed with consoled segmental pediments and straight-headed with consoled triangular pediments. The round-headed windows include sashes with roundels in the upper glazing bars. The second floor features round-headed windows with casements that have two round-headed lights and an upper roundel.

The entrances are round-headed with rusticated surrounds and Doric porches that have antefixae. The rear facade is similar and includes a Venetian window. Decorative area railings and a balustraded parapet enhance the design. No. 7 has a casement in the first bay and a canted bay window in the third bay on the ground floor, while No. 8 features a two-storey canted bay window in the first bay.
