Description
Nos. 8 and 10 on Childwall Road in Liverpool are a pair of mid-19th century houses. They are constructed of stucco and feature a hipped slate roof. Each house has two storeys and two bays, with the end bays projecting. The design includes a cornice over the ground floor, a top modillioned cornice, and rusticated quoins. The end bays have rectangular bay windows that display vermiculated rustication, angle pilasters, and a cornice, along with a panelled balcony above the first-floor window. The segmental-headed windows feature tripartite sashes, while other ground floor windows have architraves, with the end bays having segmental heads and consoled segmental open pediments; all windows are sashed and lack glazing bars. No. 8 has casements for all windows, but the heads of the bay windows and the balcony are missing as of 1984, and there is a stair on the return to the first-floor entrance. No. 10 includes an enclosed porch on the return, featuring an architraved entrance and a four-panel door.
