Description

The lock-up, built in 1796, is a two-storey octagonal structure made of stone, topped with a pyramidal slate roof and a weather-vane added by Sir James Picton. It features a flat band over the ground floor, a top cornice, and four gables. The ground floor has round-headed recesses with square blind windows, and the entrances are located on the south side. The first floor contains square blind windows, with the window above the entrance having its upper part open and fitted with diagonal iron bars.
