Description

Monk's Well, located at the corner of North Drive, is a well dated 1414, although it is mainly, if not entirely, of later construction. It features a red sandstone plinth with a blind pointed arch and a cross on top. The cross bears a Latin inscription that reads "deus dedit, homo bibit," while the cornice of the plinth has the inscription "Qui non dat quod habet/doemon infra ridet anno 1414." There are plain iron railings at the front of the well.
