Description

A pair of symmetrical houses dating from the 1840s, located at Sunnyside. The houses are constructed of stucco with a slate roof. They are three storeys high with a basement, and each has three bays. The central bay of each house is recessed and features a second-floor window. First and second-floor sill courses and top cornices are visible, with the outer bays featuring a frieze. The corners have rusticated quoin strips. The windows are sashed and have architraves; most retain glazing bars. Ground-floor windows have architraves with segmental heads and keys, while the central bay windows are tripartite sashes. First-floor windows have keys, with alternating round-headed sashes featuring consoled segmental pediments and straight-headed sashes with consoled triangular pediments. The round-headed first-floor windows incorporate roundels in the upper glazing bars. Second-floor round-headed windows have casements with two round-headed lights and an upper roundel. Round-headed entrances include rusticated surrounds and Doric porches with antefixae. The rear facade is similar in design and features a Venetian window. Decorative area railings are present.
