Description

Lane End Farm is a former farmhouse that has been converted into a farm building, dating from the late 17th century with some alterations. The front is roughcast and features a slate roof. It has a central entry plan with end stacks and is two storeys high. To the left of the front door, there is a three-light window with rebated and chamfered details and re-set mullions. To the right, there is another three-light window with a shallow chamfer and flush mullions. On the first floor, there is a central pitching door. The front door is framed by a surround with a shallow chamfer.

The left gable wall has a former two-light window with the mullion removed, along with a projecting stack that has offsets and a cap with moulded coping. At the rear, there is a lean-to extension that has a blocked rebated and chamfered window surround. The adjoining barn, also roughcast at the front and with a slated roof, retains stone slate on the rear pitch. It features a wide doorway with a segmental arch and a projecting keystone. To the right of this doorway are two modern windows with plain reveals, and above them is a circular pitching hole with a plain stone surround. The north gable wall includes three shippon doors with plain reveals, and the gable itself has coping, kneelers, and a ball finial. There are later lean-to extensions at the rear.
