Description

Lane End Farmhouse and barn is a farm complex dating from 1694, as indicated by the datestone reading "A & EW/1694". The farmhouse is constructed from stone rubble, with the house being roughcast. The north-east elevation features two storeys and two bays. The windows are sashed with vertical glazing bars and horns; the second bay has a small-paned fire window and a paired sash on the first floor. The entrance has a 20th-century glazed door with the datestone above it, and there is a single-pitch outshut to the first bay that has a plank door. The building has squat gable-end stacks, with the stack on the first bay projecting. The south-east elevation includes barn doors under a pentice and a loading door adjacent to the house. The south-west elevation features a gabled wing and a lean-to outshut, with varied fenestration.
