Description
Channel Head Malt Kiln House is a house dated 1721, as indicated by the inscription on the door lintel. It is constructed from pebbledashed rubble and features a slate roof. The building has a two-unit plan with a central entrance, gable stacks, and a two-storey outshut. To the left of the door is a modern bay window, while to the right is a three-light chamfered mullioned window. On the first floor, there are two chamfered surrounds with the central mullion removed. Some 17th-century type mullioned windows have been reused in the walls of the outshut. Inside, there are remnants of a domed brick bread oven within a plain-lintelled fireplace located in the outshut, as well as a cellar that contains a well.
