Description

The barn located to the east of Mount Pleasant Farmhouse is a bank barn built in 1836. It is constructed from rubble with sandstone dressings and features a slate roof. The barn has two storeys on the west side, which includes shippons and a cart store. The barn floor is accessed from a higher ground level at the east.

The openings in the barn have chamfered surrounds and 4-centred heads. On the west wall, to the right of centre, there is a wide cart entrance with a threshing door above it. To the left of this entrance are three shippon doors, with the outer two being blocked, as well as a window. On the right side, there is a blocked door, a window, and another door.

Centrally located on the first floor is a moulded plaque featuring a triangular head and hood mould with cusps, displaying a coat of arms and the date '1836'. The gables of the barn have copings and kneelers, each topped with a finial at the apex. Both gables include ventilation slits and a moulded cusped owl hole. The east wall features a wide entrance with a 4-centred head.
