Description
Thwaite End Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1687, as indicated by the inscription 'RBI 1687' on the lintel. It is constructed from pebbledashed rubble and features a slate roof. The building has a two-unit central entry plan with gable stacks and stands two storeys tall with an attic, comprising three bays. The windows are sashed with glazing bars and are set in plain stone surrounds, except for the central window on the first floor, which has a chamfered surround typical of the 17th century. The moulding of the door jambs continues around the lintel. There are two attic windows in plain surrounds in each gable. The farmhouse has later extensions at the rear.
