Description

This is a house, now divided into two separate dwellings, likely dating from the 18th century. A plaque inscribed 'RCJ 1703' suggests a construction or significant alteration in that year. The building is constructed of rubble stone, with a pebbledashed finish, and has a slate roof. It is arranged with a three-unit plan, featuring gable stacks and a stack located between the second and third units. The original front door, now belonging to number 7, has jambs with a chamfer which extends upwards to form a triangular shape above the head. To the left of this door is a sash window with glazing bars and plain reveals. Above this, on the first floor, is a similar window accompanied by a date plaque. The second unit has a doorway leading to number 6, with a plain stone surround. To the right of this doorway is a plain stone window surround. The first-floor window above has been altered from a former four-light chamfered mullioned window configuration, now retaining a single central mullion, with the left-hand half of the original window being fixed and containing glazing bars. The third unit to the right has a three-light rebated and chamfered mullioned window on each floor. The gables are finished with stone copings. At the rear of number 7, exposed cobble walling is visible. A first-floor window features a two-light rebated and chamfered mullioned window, with one light blocked, alongside a small first-floor stair window with a chamfered opening.
