Description

This is a house, now divided into two separate dwellings, located off Main Street in Addingham. It was initially dated 1730, marked with initials "I (S) I" on the building. The house is constructed of large dressed stone and has a stone slate roof. It follows a three-room plan and is two storeys high.

The exterior features a plinth and string course. A four-light mullioned window with recessed mullions is present on the front, repeated above it on the first floor. An inserted doorway has monolithic jambs; an original doorway retains an architrave frieze decorated with the date in high relief and a cyma-moulded cornice. A double-chamfered mullioned window, originally four lights but now missing two mullions and reduced to three, sits above another three-light window. The gables are coped with kneelers and stacks, along with a stack on the ridge.

The rear of the property includes an outshut with quoined angles and a two-light flat-faced mullion window with a chamfered surround, positioned to the left of the doorway.

Inside, the central room has a large, segmental-arched fireplace with a stop-chamfered, cyma-moulded surround.
