Description

The Manor House is a house dating from the late 16th century or early 17th century, with a rear outshut and initialled and dated "RSM". A two-storey wing was added later. It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone from 1774, featuring dressed quoins and a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and a three-room plan.

The south front displays three large 19th-century chamfered mullioned windows, with the center light being sashed. There is an 18th-century doorway with a chamfered surround, and an original doorway at the right end features a depressed Tudor arch with sunken spandrels and a chamfered surround. The first floor has 18th-century flat-faced mullioned windows with recessed mullions arranged in groups of three, three, two, and two lights. An external stack with offsets is located on the left, along with two ridge stacks.

At the rear, there is a single-storey outshut that includes a three-light chamfered mullioned window to the left of a doorway, which has composite jambs, a dated lintel, and a chamfered surround. A 19th-century wing is positioned at right angles, featuring quoins, a gable stack, and a two-light flat-faced mullioned window in the east side wall. The outshut also has a ridge stack.

Inside, the house features an 18th-century segmental-arched fireplace with joggled skewbacks and a cyma-moulded surround, replacing the original firehood. The interior includes scarf-jointed spine beams and stop-chamfered joists. The parlour has an original fireplace with a Tudor arch and a chamfered surround with a broach stop, as well as board and muntin panelling. The fireplace in the parlour chamber also has a chamfered surround. The roof structure includes a king-post design with 'A' struts and an arch-braced truss.
