Description

This is a house, now divided into three separate dwellings, dating to 1704, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is located on the north side of High Street, Benson. The building is constructed of painted stone rubble with brick dressings, and has a plain-tile roof and brick stacks. The overall design is U-shaped. It is two storeys high, with a four-window front, incorporating a central section flanked by wings. A 20th-century eight-panel door is located in the centre of the building. The windows to the left and right are nine-pane sashes. A brick band runs between the ground and first floors, and another runs along the eaves. A wing to the left has 19th-century wood cross-windows on both ground and first floors, with a two-light metal casement in the gable. The wing to the right features an eight-pane sash window on the ground floor and a twelve-pane sash on the first floor. The interior has not been inspected. A balustrade creates a courtyard between the wings, with a central gateway. A datestone reading "1704" is positioned above the centre of the first floor.
