Description

Watermeetings is a house, likely altered in the later 17th century from an earlier building. It is now divided into two separate dwellings. The construction is of roughly-coursed rubble, with the western section rendered. The roof is covered in stone slates. The house is two storeys high. Many windows have splayed reveals and lost mullions. A single five-light and a four-light window retain chamfered stone mullions. A later window has been added to the left of the four-light mullioned window. The first floor features three two-light and two four-light windows, all with mullions removed, except for the one furthest to the left. One irregular sash window is also present. The off-centre doorway has chamfered reveals. A plaster frieze is recorded in the north room, as noted in the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments archive (reference 8/p133).
