Description

Crowtree Cottage is a house dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of rubble with a stone slate roof and has two storeys. On the ground floor, there are two 3-light windows, while the upper floor features two 6-light windows with square mullions and window surrounds. The doorway, which is off-centre, has chamfered surrounds, and there is evidence of a blocked doorway immediately to the left. Above the doorway, there is a small square recess that may have once held a datestone. The cottage is prominently positioned, facing the end of Higherford Old Bridge.
