Description
Higher Scholefield Cottage is a house, likely dating from the early 18th century. It was originally two cottages. The house is constructed of rubble and has a stone slate roof. The ground floor has two windows with chamfered stone mullions; one has three lights, the other five, separated by a wider mullion. To the right is a three-light window with square stone mullions and surrounds. A doorway with chamfered jambs and head is present, and a similar doorway is blocked opposite a ridge stack. Above are two more windows similar to those below, also with chamfered mullions. A moulded stack rises from the ridge, and another is located on the left-hand gable.
