Description
Smithy Cottage is a house dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of rubble brought to course, with dressed quoins and a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and features a symmetrical facade with two first-floor windows. The doorway has composite jambs and a chamfered surround. On either side of the doorway, there are three-light double-chamfered mullioned windows on each floor, which have almost square reveals. The ground floor left window has been renewed in the mid-20th century. The cottage also includes moulded gutter brackets, as well as coping, kneelers, and a stack on the left gable.
