SJ 98 NE MARPLE BARNSFOLD ROAD (north side) Hawk Green 7/50 Barnsfold Manor - Farm

Farmhouse, now house. "1659 GE" on front datestone and partly illegible datestone to rear possibly "IMB 1739". Dressed stone with graduated stone slate roof. L-shaped plan with the 1739 wing added at the rear and a 2-storey porch to the right. All of 2 storeys. 2 bays with projecting plinth. 4 and 5-light double-chamfered stone mullion windows with hoodmoulds to ground floor and 2 similar 4-light windows to first. Blocked 2-light attic window to bay 2 which projects as an arm of the L and has a coped gable with kneelers and ball finials. 2 3-light mullioned windows to right elevation as well as the gabled porch which would appear to be of the later date. The 1739 wing has 3-light casement windows on each floor. One original battened door inside. Chamfered beams with stepped stops and timber-framed internal partitions. 2 brick chimney stacks.
