Description

Shepley's Bridge, also known as Bridge Number 4 on the Macclesfield Canal, is an accommodation bridge completed by 1831, designed by engineer William Crosley. It is constructed from dressed stone and features an elliptical horseshoe keystone arch. The bridge has convex parapet walls that include a stone band and rounded copings, which end in square piers. Additionally, the structure is grooved for stop planks.
