Description

Barnsfold Bridge, also known as Bridge Number 5, is an accommodation bridge on the Macclesfield Canal, completed by 1831 and designed by engineer William Crosley. The bridge is constructed of dressed stone and features an elliptical horseshoe keystone arch. Its convex parapet walls include a stone band and rounded copings, which end in square piers. The mouth of the bridge is grooved for stop planks.
