Description
Bancroft's Bridge, also known as Bridge Number 8 on the Macclesfield Canal, is an accommodation bridge completed by 1831, designed by engineer William Crosley. The bridge is constructed of dressed stone and features an elliptical horseshoe keystone arch. Its convex parapet walls are adorned with a stone band and rounded copings, which end in square piers. The mouth of the bridge is grooved for stop planks.
