Description

Three houses at 15, 17, and 19 Woods Lane date from the late 18th century. They are built of hammer-dressed watershot stone with a graduated stone slate roof. The building is a double-depth range with four bays and three storeys. Number 19 (the first two bays) has quoins and a central doorway with a dressed surround. The windows are mostly 5-light to the first bay and 3-light to the second, with recessed chamfered mullions on the ground and first floors. The second floor was added later and features a 12-light workshop window with recessed flat-faced mullions. Number 17 (the third bay) has a 19th-century window and door on the ground floor, and blocked taking-in doors on the first and second floors, inserted into windows that retain traces of recessed chamfered mullions. Number 15 (the fourth bay), accessed through the gable, has a 3-light window on each floor, matching the earlier style. Ridge chimney stacks are present. Many of the mullions have been cemented over and may originally have been cavetto-moulded.
