Description
These are two houses, now divided into three, dating from the late 18th century. They are built of hammer-dressed, watershot stone with a graduated stone slate roof. The buildings consist of a single and double-depth range, with a total of three bays over three storeys. The first bay (number 4) was built earlier than the others and is double-depth, featuring quoins and a door to the right with a dressed surround. It has a five-light ground floor window, a seven-light first floor window, and a seven-light window to the second floor which was added after the construction of bays 2 and 3. All windows have recessed, flat-faced stone mullions. Bay 3 has a square-cut door surround, and a door was inserted to bay 2 when it was converted into a separate house. Bay 2 features four and five-light windows, bay 3 has two three-light, flat-faced windows, and the top floor has a 14-light workshop window, all appearing to be later than the lower floors. There are two ridge chimney stacks. The rear elevation includes a three-light, double-chamfered cavetto-moulded mullion window from an earlier date, along with various four, six, and 14-light windows. Two taking-in doors have been blocked up.
