Description
The Limes and Heathfields is a house, now divided into two houses, built around 1820 with 20th-century additions. It is constructed from hammer-dressed watershot stone and features a graduated stone slate roof. The building has a double-depth central-staircase plan, stands three storeys tall, and has an addition on the left side.
Notable architectural features include a projecting plinth, rusticated quoins, and an eaves cornice. The central door is topped with a fanlight and is framed by an open pediment supported by three-quarter columns, leading up to a stone step approach. There are paired four-light sash windows on the first and third bays of each floor, and a single sash window in the second bay. All windows have square-cut surrounds, with the paired windows separated by a stone mullion. The building is topped with gable chimney stacks.
At the rear, there is a central round-headed stair window featuring interlaced glazing bars, impost blocks, and a keystone. Additionally, there are four-light recessed flat-faced mullion windows on either side of the building on each floor, along with a blocked taking-in door.
