Description
Ivy Cottage is a house dating from the late 18th century, situated in Saddleworth. It is constructed from hammer-dressed watershot stone with a graduated stone slate roof. The main block is one bay wide and three storeys high, with a lean-to addition to the left. The ground floor features a four-light window alongside a doorway with a square-cut surround. Above this are a six-light window on the first floor and another six-light window on the second floor, both incorporating a king mullion. All windows have recessed, flat-faced stone mullions. Gable windows light the roof slope. A gable chimney stack is present, and the left gable end is rendered. A small stair window and two later window openings are visible at the rear.
