Description

The Farmhouse is a house dating from the mid-18th century, with later alterations. It is constructed of hammer-dressed watershot stone, featuring a rendered front and a graduated stoneslate roof. The building has a single-depth plan, comprising three bays and two storeys, with quoins at the corners. The central door is flanked by a four-light window on the left and a five-light window with a king mullion on the right, both having recessed cavetto-moulded mullions. On the first floor, there are two three-light windows of similar design, along with a centrally placed three-light recessed flat-faced mullion window, which dates from the late 18th century. The house has gable chimney stacks, one of which has been raised. There is a 20th-century lean-to extension on the right gable end, featuring two-light windows on the upper floor. The house is positioned so that it backs onto another house.
