Description
The Uppermill Conservative Club is a building that dates back to the 1790s. Originally a house, it is now used as a club. The structure is made of hammer-dressed watershot stone and features a slate roof. It has a double-range plan and stands two storeys tall. The building has a projecting plinth, rusticated quoins, and an eaves cornice. The front facade consists of three bays, with a central door that is adorned with a pediment and architrave. There are paired windows, which were formerly sash windows, in the first and third bays, featuring square-cut surrounds and separating mullions. A single window is located in the centre of the first floor. The building has a ridge chimney stack. A rear range was added later, which includes canted corners and lean-to extensions. This section features two and three-light flat-faced mullion windows and a semi-circular-headed stair window. The building is included for its group value.
