Description
No. 10 St Mary's Gate is a house located in Uppermill, built in the late 18th century. It is constructed from hammer-dressed watershot stone and features a graduated stone slate roof. The house has a single-depth plan with one bay and three storeys. The first-floor door has a square-cut surround and is accessed by a 20th-century flight of steps. There are three 20th-century window openings, one of which has been inserted into a former taking-in door. A gable chimney stack is present. The principal elevation is at the rear, which includes a door on the left, a five-light recessed flat-faced stone mullion window on the ground floor, and a similar seven-light window on the upper floors.
