Description
No. 4 Church Fields is a house from the mid-18th century located in Dobcross, Saddleworth. It is constructed from hammer-dressed watershot stone and features a graduated stone slate roof. The building has a three-bay, two-storey layout. The entrance door is positioned to the right and has a chamfered surround. The house includes quoins, a 19th-century ground floor window, and a two-light double-chamfered cavetto-moulded mullion window on the first floor. Gable chimney stacks are present. The principal elevation, which is at the rear, features an inserted square-cut door surround to the right, along with nine and two-light ground floor windows (the former having two blocked lights) and two, four, and three-light first floor windows. Most of these windows have double-chamfered cavetto-moulded mullions, except for one that has recessed flat-faced mullions.
