Description
Lane Side is a house located in Dobcross, built in the late 18th century but incorporating earlier work. It is constructed from hammer-dressed watershot stone and features a graduated stone slate roof. The building has a single-depth plan with two bays and three storeys, along with a 20th-century lean-to addition at the rear.
The central door, which is obscured by a 20th-century porch, is flanked by three-light windows on either side. There are nine-light windows on the first and second floors that include king mullions, with three blocked lights in each case. All windows have recessed flat-faced stone mullions. The house has ridge chimney stacks, and there are two and three-light windows at the rear, along with a taking-in door that is now partly blocked by the lean-to extension.
