Description

Field Top is a house dating from the late 18th century, constructed from hammer-dressed watershot stone with a graduated stone slate roof. It features a single-depth plan with three storeys and two bays, including a lean-to against the left gable and a 20th-century extension to the right and rear. The building has quoins, and the first bay contains a 7-light window on each floor, although a door has been inserted into the ground floor window, which now has four lights due to being obscured by a 20th-century porch. The second bay has a 6-light window on each floor. All windows are fitted with recessed flat-faced stone mullions. The gable chimney stacks have been rendered, and the gables and rear of the house are also rendered, featuring 2-light windows. Additionally, the rear includes an arched stair window.
